An amazing night in São Paulo!
Another passionate and enthusiastic Brazilian audience was on hand last night in São Paulo for the concert at Credicard Hall.
The setlist for last night’s concert in São Paulo included ‘The Swing of Things’ and ‘Minor Earth Major Sky’; there was no sign of ‘Touchy!’ or ‘And You Tell Me’:

When we hit the first traffic jam we know we are back in Sao Paulo. If ever anyone complains about London’s M25 in the future, we will send him here to experience a real traffic jam! Also one of the reasons someone prefers to stay at the hotel – or to catch up on much needed sleep.
Ever since their first major Brazilian tour in May 1991, seeing a-ha live in Brazil has always been a unique experience. One of the many things that keeps amazing us is the passion and energy the Brazilian fans show towards the band. It’s not just a concert, it’s a party. And Sao Paulo certainly was no exception. Long before the show starts, queues start building up outside the Credicard Hall. And once the doors open at 8pm, there is a race for the front row spaces in the standing pitch. We feel we are in for a treat – and wouldn’t be disappointed.
Some people back in Europe shake their head when they hear we are going to see the band more than once live, asking if it wasn’t the same show all the time. Absolutely no concert is the same that we have seen around the globe – each one has been unique. It’s the audience that makes it, it’s those enthusiastic individuals going absolutely mental that stick in your mind. And with a changing set list, at least we finally have a valid reason going to several shows…
‘Minor Earth Major Sky’ is a great surprise showing off Magne and Paul on acoustic guitar, the old classic ‘Scoundrel Days’ still sends a cold shiver down everyone’s back and what a treat to have ‘The Swing Of Things’ back in the set list. Morten is slightly lost for words during ‘I’ve Been Losing You’, however the audience helps him back on the roads. The decibels are raised when Morten collects a Brazilian flag from the crowd during the encore’s ‘Train Of Thought’.
And the enthusiasm doesn’t stop at the concert but continues at the band’s hotel when Magne and Paul have to make their way through an ocean of fans, smilingly fulfilling every photo and autograph request.
Work is over – off to Rio for a few days off before the next party.

It’s almost as good as actually being there yourself to hear how other fans are enjoting the tour and wonderful to get all these updates thanks to modern technology. Made up beyond any words I can share that The Swing of Things made the setlist!! Hope it comes to the UK- it’s classic a-ha !
Looks awesome – I hope they continue with a similar set list on all the concerts for the whole year as I’m going to the Dresden concert on July 25 .

Hi members of A-ha! How are you doing? Since I’m going to watch your show today, I thought it would be great to tell you my story.
I’ve started listening to A-ha since the beginning of the band. I’ve liked the videos from the moment I saw them, and your style as well. I was young and made my little son sleep listening with the songs Take on Me and Hunting High and Low. They were still LPs and tapes at the time. The years have passed and the CD era came. That’s when I bought my first CD, which was Memorial Beach. As time passed I bought the other CDs as well. Time went by so fast that I’m not as young as I used to be, just like the band.
Now I’m going to watch your show for the first and last time. Twenty seven years later, my son is taking me to the show. Nowadays I already have a bit of white hair, just like some of the members of the band.
I’m sure tonight’s show will be amazing and that I’ll never forget it. Tears will fall from my eyes and I’ll sing loud even without knowing English.
I felt time passed in your CDs as well. It was like I noticed the changes just like in LIFELINES: suddenly you look to the whole band and notice that the boys are not the ones from years ago. Your faces are already mature and with marks.
How can people from a distant place become part of other people’s lives?
You’re part of my life and, as a song from Minas Gerais says, “We keep friends on the left side of our chests, inside our hearts”. I’ll always listen to your songs, whenever I’m sad or happy.
I wish this wasn’t the band’s last show. I’ll be sad, knowing that no more CDs will be released.
The band for me is just like Morten’s song Darkspace: “Crossing these rivers of memories, girl, you’ve got sunshine on your face, you’re with me, you’re with me, with me, you’re with me, you’re with me, wherever I go”.
