Belo Horizonte – A night to remember

Almost at the crack of dawn a-ha leave Rio for Belo Horizonte, a short flight gets them to Brazil’s 3rd largest city. It’s an early show today starting at 8pm and while we think nothing could have topped the show in Rio, we were proved wrong very quickly.
As soon as a-ha enter the stage, deafening screams fill the hot & sweaty air – we should have invested in those earplugs afterall! We have to gasp for air since the atmosphere is simply breathtaking and it reminds us of the 1991 tour when a-ha properly conquered Brazil for the first time and they fell in love with this country. And us too.
Magne’s request to sing, clap and dance is thoroughly followed – the concert turns into one of the biggest celebrations of the band’s musical journey through time. The enthusiastic crowd is the biggest choir heard until now and with ‘The Living Daylights’ the ground is literally shaking. And even Paul gets overexcited and drops his guitar during ‘We’re Looking For The Whales’.
When finally ‘Take On Me’ closes the show, the audience goes completely beserk, men and women lost in frenetic screams – truly a night to remember. Belo Horizonte – 12 out of 10!

The concert in Brasília last night was perfect.
I don’t think you know how many of us were CRYING. And it wasn’t in the rain.
Morten, you could have just stood there with the band and hear us sing all night, it wouldn’t have mattered.

Legendary show in Belo Horizonte! I loved it! You are part of my life since I was 25 years in 1985 and also the life of my son since he was born 18 years ago. Morten, thanks for the kiss that you played at the end of take on me, there on the side of the stage, this tribute was fantastic. I wish you continued together ….. keep returning to Brazil!
