‘a-ha hysteria’ at book signing
Fans started queuing early in the day for the 16.00 event at Tanum book store in Oslo, some even arriving directly from the airport for this last opportunity to meet a-ha and get an autograph. As NRK reports, there were people from many countries present, braving the below-freezing temperatures in a queue that stretched down the block to get a copy of The Swing of Things: 1985-2010 signed by Morten, Magne and Paul.
This photo was posted on a-ha.com Twitter during the signing (click the image to view it in a larger size):
Some fans stayed in the bookstore after their books were signed, to watch the procedings and take photos. Regular shoppers had to step around the crowd to make their purchases.
Unfortunately the queue was so long and time was limited, so some waiting fans did not obtain autographs in the end. According to Side2, more than 100 waiting fans heard the disappointing news that the signing was over.
The author, Jan Omdahl, was also present for part of the signing event and was approached by fans requesting autographs as well. Jan later in the evening participated in a discussion with Norwegian music journalist Audun Vinger, at an hour-long session about the book and a-ha at the House of Literature.
Thank you, a-ha!
My treasure increased (^___^)
I wish i could have been there! Although, i did see them in Cardiff arena and my mum gave mags her photo and number to give to Morten! x
There’s so much a-ha still to be heard. a-ha will return. <3 from Buenos Aires, Argentina
So sorry for not being here.. But even more sorry for those who were but didn’t get the autographs!
Love A-ha.
So sorry to have missed the signing. And sadly, I’ve just got back from Heathrow after my flight to Oslo was cancelled and I cannot get a flight until tomorrow afternoon – which means I will miss the concert. Sad A-ha fans, stranded in the UK with two final concert tickets that can’t be used.
Thanks for the memories. Thanks for last week at Wembley Arena, great gig. Lucky enough to have been at the very front in the middle so a great way to sign off. And thanks to Pal for the plectrum – well my brother got it, not me, but he’s really happy about it so thanks.
Thanks to Morten for visiting my school in 1989 to do a half-marathon and raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis.
And thanks all three for all the great music.
a-ha! This great book looks even better with your signs, thank you so much!!!! And thank you for this unbelievable chance to see you, it’s very sad to realize that it was the first and the last one in my life, but this day will always be in my memory
Unfortunately could’nt make the book signing but lucky enough to arrive in Oslo from England today for the final concert tomorrow night.
If there is an a-ha fan out there who would like to go to the final concert tomorrow I have a geniune spare ticket available at the last minute due to unforseen circumstances. I am in Oslo all day tomorrow and will be around the venue late afternoon if any one is interested. My number is 07505 063 895. It is genuine and would like to give a proper fan the opportunity to go. I know I would jump at the chance.
dear catherine- this is a big help!!! please to you. Yesterday, at the a-ha-party in oslo, we meet and a organising member took a picture from you and me – maybe you remember me – i`m the girl witit
with the a-ha-dress which was to late for the contest and you gave me a button for solace, that was nice. I have a big problem. yesterday, my friends miss the two tourbooks from a-ha farewell in the garderobe of the location folk. I was there but they told me that you took all things this morning with you. so pleas if you are in oslo, write me.I`m in the last concert tonight too, with the dress of course. maybe we can find eachother. so if you read this I`m at the hotel yet. thank you and enjoy the concert! best regards annett
I was there when they had their last signing on December 1st in Oslo. If anyone who could’t be there wants a SIGNED book in either norwegian (hardback) or english (paperback) then they can buy one on ebay. Its a chance of a lifetime for hardcore A-ha fans:)

If the Brit Awards have a lifetime achievement award next year I think a-ha should receive it.
