Last night a-ha kicked off the ‘Cast In Steel’ tour at Luna Park in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The band had no doubt of a warm reception from the audience, following two days of enthusiastic welcome back from fans they met during their stay in the city.
Morten and Magne arrived in Argentina on Tuesday morning and were greeted by hundreds of fans at the airport. Norwegian paper VG later published this video clip and report titled ‘Chaos in Buenos Aires when a-ha arrived’.
The media coverage continued with a report on some of the fans in Argentina for the concert, telling their stories and what the music means to them.
Yesterday, VG published an article about the band’s lack of agreement on the set list one day before the show. “There will be changes, there are some songs that we must practice. We have the desire to play some of the songs from the new album as well, but as of now really none of them are going well enough,” Magne says.
One of the main challenges in deciding the set list is Morten’s voice; all of the songs are demanding, and according to Morten, “there are no breaks.” He must use his whole voice for each song, one way or another, and this becomes too much for him. “It’s the concert tomorrow that will provide answers to how it really goes,” says Magne.
Now the first concert on the tour is over, and the set list is known – for now – and the focus turns to the 30th Anniversary Rock In Rio concert on Sunday night! AOL is live streaming performances from the festival, be sure to visit their Live Feed Page for broadcast times.
