a-ha receive the Spellemann Award of Honor
Tonight’s Spellemann award show at the Oslo Spektrum opened with a ‘blistering’ version of ‘The Sun Always Shines on TV’, performed by several artists including Thomas Dybdahl, Ida Maria and Bertine Zetlitz.
Following the opening song, a-ha was awarded the Spellemann Award of Honor. Morten and Magne were present to accept the award. “The band is a three-headed troll, but as you can see we are missing one head tonight. On behalf of us all I must thank you so much. We can not go away without thanking our families and wives,” said Magne Furuholmen. “Thanks to everyone in Norway, it has been a pleasure to entertain you over the years.” Morten added, “Enough said. Thanks to everyone.”
Apparently the band had been invited to attend the award show, but as they were not nominated in any category, they were unaware that they would be honored tonight.
