HMV signing event in London
Fans began queuing on Tuesday evening at HMV in Oxford Circus to receive wristbands for a-ha’s last ever CD signing event the next afternoon. There were nearly 200 fans in line at 9:00am Wednesday, when HMV opened their doors and started distributing wristbands. Strategically placed throughout the store were displays of the new compilation ’25′, which is out in the UK this week. a-ha videos played on the screens in the store throughout the day.
At 6:00 pm, fans were again queued at HMV, this time in the aisles near the back of the store, where a stage is set up for special events. Everyone had a chance to say a quick word to the band members and have their CD signed; some fans stayed even after they had gone through the line, to watch as friends also met the band or to take photos. When at last Morten, Magne and Paul had met everyone and signed hundreds of CDs, they took their leave with smiles and waves to the fans gathered in the store, and several fans shouted ‘Thank you a-ha!’
HMV took some great pictures of the event, see them on Flickr.

What an amazing day! Met the guys at the signing and then saw them play at Heaven. It was a fantastic and intimate gig – short and sweet -but the guys delivered as usual!! Looking forward to the Royal Albert Hall tomorrow! x
Thank you sooooo much a-ha for taking the time to organise a signing;it was fantastic to see you and to get to say “Thank you” in person for all that you have done and are doing. Your performance at Heaven was absolutely amazing and I can honestly say that I don’t think I have ever felt prouder to be an a-ha fan than when you were up there rocking out!! Good luck with the rest of the tour-can’t wait for tomorrow night at RAH :O))
I saw Morten and Mags on Loose Women on Thursday and when asked if it was a unanimous decision about the band splitting up Morten said ‘No’, so who did suggest it and who didn’t want it to end. It would be nice for fans to get the truth from the band.
“Fans began queuing on Tuesday evening at HMV”
Because I know a guy who was there from 9am on tuesday, and I got there by 2:30 pm.
Where did you get that info from?
Anyways, great event, and greater gig afterwards at Heaven.
I was there from 3:30pm on Tuesday. There’s no mention that we slept in the rain??? That was the longest night of my life, and it wasn’t really worth being sick for a week. Why didn’t the 25 of us get extra time with the band? We should have had hugs and a group photo. We are the ones who put in the extra effort and all we got were colds. There’s no other band I’d be willing to do that for, so it’s a good thing you guys are quitting. Never again.
i didnt have to que at all got there weds afternoon and got to meet them ! excellent day!
shame they wont carry on forever!
