‘Hunting High and Low’ in full at Royal Albert Hall
As you may have heard, a-ha will play their debut album in full for the first and only time at a special one-off concert at Royal Albert Hall in London on October 8. This alone makes the event truly unique and not to be missed. However if you need any more convincing, what if we told you there would be an orchestra as well, to give the music a classical and soaring lift?
What if we told you to expect to be surprised?
The ticket pre-sale begins tomorrow, May 13 at 9:30am GMT via Gigs and Tours, and THIS is where to get yours. For those of you who can wait for the general public sale, you can buy tickets here starting Friday, May 14 at 9:30am GMT.
To get something of an idea of what the songs might sound like with an orchestra, we’ve uploaded this clip from the concert in New York on May 8, 2010. The music and visuals in this clip were shown at the beginning of the concerts before a-ha took the stage.

I hope I can get to be there! It’s hard with kids. Presuming it is played in album order then at last there will be a concert NOT ending with Take On Me. I would prefer it to be left out altogether but still this should be something else. There would be demand for this concert elsewhere especially Manchester:-)
Wow – looks fantastic. Can’t wait for the tour to hit London and rally hope I can get a good ticket for the Royal Albert Hall – sounds like it will be amazing!

And now there indeed actually ís an orchestra.
I absolutely ADORED that orchestral montage at the Toronto show. As we all know from ‘Waiting For Her’ and ‘Summers Of Our Youth’, a-ha with strings is like coffee n’ cream!
But all of HH&L with a complete orchestra? All I can say is, they’d better be filming, and they’d better sell me a copy on blu-ray!
looking good !!!! and its gonna be a great teaser for the wembley gig….. with the album running at only 9 tracks, i guess ‘teaser’ is all it’s gonna be !!! ( and i have to agree with Cat that i too will be grateful to have an a-ha gig end with something other than T.O.M.)….oh , and i guess someone upstairs really needs to have taken note of the disgruntlement felt by fans who booked ‘blind’ seats at previous pre-sales ……..
It would be fantastic if this performance was professionally recorded and released on a DVD. This would be of great joy to the fans who can’t possibly be at this amazing event.
Ahhh!!! Now I HAVE to go!!! You see: since I saw the HHAL video, with full orchestra, my dream has been to see A-ha live with orchestra!!! I’m soooo going there!
What an amazing, amazing idea from the boys for their true fan base. It will be THE MOST amazing night and as others have said, a great night before the tour in the UK begins. The one-off night in Shepherds Bush Empire back in Feb 2006 was just incredible-got a feeling that this will be even better…makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up just thinking about it!! See you all there xx

I (and a lot more others) can’t go to this, because it’s too near to Amsterdam gig (of which I have tickets). So I REALLY hope it will be recorded and released on dvd…
Play the same concert in other places pleasee!

I loved the opening. Thank you for posting that. Since I heard the news of the Royal Albert Hall show, I was listening to the Hunting High and Low CD. During “Living a Boy’s Adventure Tale.” I thought how nice that will sound in concert,I pictured the oboe solo. WOW! Will there be a 2 DVD set with the Royal Albert Hall Concert on one disc and the final show in Oslow on the other? Pretty Please? I’ll be a grip for free!

9:30; Online presale: Service Busy – continually. THEN I call the Gigs & Tour phone and they tell me THERE’s NO PRESALE for the 8th of October RAH gig today. I tell them: your website (and a-ha.com) says there’s a presale starting 5 minutes ago. Their reply: NO, that information is not true.

What a waste of time – gigsandtours web site was overloaded within 45 seconds. Got Block A row 9 reservation but had to complete purchase within 5 minutes – web site took 12+ minutes to reload – what a joke!!! Only outer circle seats left now! Now we can wait to see all those block A tickets on eBay instead of in the hands of fans – sucks big time
every bloody ticket im trying to buy has gone im sooooo frustrated and not happy
gig n tours are rubbish.been trying since 9.30 to get tkts and it keeps telling me sold out……cant even get them on the phone.wot a waste of time.luckily my friend has got tkts but we are up in the gods.wots the point of a pre sale if real fans cant get the best seats.not impressed

Ok, this is even better: I finally get thru online; get assigned a great seat in Stalls G, and, after giving my CC details, I’m told “you’ve taken too long”; so I have to start all over again…. and then, OF COURSE, there are NO seats available.

No chance to get Tickets and then you find them on Ebay a couple of minutes later for 200,00 pounds – great that we Fans are always the idiots!!!
I waited over 15 minutes and all what came was “Your request has been placed in a queue” and then when i had luck to get a Ticket they wrote minutes later ” Sorry, there are currently no seats available for this event”
And that in all categories !!! Only the far way standing tickets are free

Anyone having any luck getting tickets? I’ve been on for an hour – been offered tickets four times – and each time I submit payment it tells me there is a problem with ticket allocation and chucks me out!! Extremely frustrated!!!!
hmmm – tickets already on ebay within half an hour of tix going on sale – disgusting!
I have been trying for 45 minutes to buy a ticket for this and it keeps saying there has been an error and I have to call them, but their line is constantly busy. AARRGGHHH!!!!!!! HELP!!!!! What is wrong??? This has happened every single time I have ever tried to buy an a-ha ticket. Why can’t you use a normal company like Ticketmaster? Gigs & Tours SUCK!!!
I’m absolutely gutted. I tried constantly from 9.25 onwards, and was delighted to be allocated block G of the stalls (ie right at the front besides Magne), row 3. BUT… when I pressed the button to accept the tickets I was put back in a queue to pay – and when the payment page finally loaded, because I had supposedly taken longer than 5 minutes the tickets had gone! But it wasn’t my fault the page had taken so long to load! Needless to say, nothing anywhere near as good was then available, and after trying for another hour I have ended up at the very back row of the top circle. I know I’m lucky to be going at all, but it seems so unfair…
Well finally after almost 2 hours I got my tickets £66 and says just ‘seats’ I hope they are worth it

I hope that at least the very final show in Oslo will be put on DVD for the fans. It would be nice for that concert in Royal Albert Hall to be put on dvd as well. I can only make the Cardiff date – like someone said it’s difficult when you have kids especially a disabled child.At least I have a front row seat in Cardiff.
A_HA take note…this is a complete farce. What is the point of a pre-sale when the true fans can not get a decent ticket but an hour after the tickets go on sale Ebay have a selection of excellent tickets at exuberant prices ! This happened when the UK tour dates were released and as I am a TRUE fan I have spent over £1000 on tickets to ensure I get to see the band I’ve followed for 25 years …EXPLANATION PLEASE ?
Article concerning this concert is on BBC News website under entertainment. I have tickets but will have to get rid of my Oslo Dec 4 tickets as my wife is pregnant and due around then. Any chance of a Scoundrel Days concert – or is that plain greedy?
Here’s my contribution to the discussion: all the tickets for the fans have been bought by resellers that are now “offering” them at prices which span from 150 to 400 pounds. Do I have to say more?
Like the majority of us posting here,I have been truly gutted by this presale ‘experience’. Like ‘Outofblue’ I had a great seat allocation but after entering my CC details I got the same stupid message!!! Being at this concert would have been a real dream come true for me. Looks like I will have to try my luck tomorrow…….or get held to randsome on Ebay!!
You guys need to look into this. Us geniune fans are being ripped off as they have now been bought by ticket touts selling on eBay at an unbelievable amount.
Guys please look into this – think of your fans wanting to share this wonderful event.
If possible revoke the sales, refund the already bought tickets and then reallocate via here or somehow.
Don’t let the ticket touts spoil it xx
Agree with all posters above who were allocated seats in block G (*euphoria*) and then let down by the joke of a website (*despair*) – same thing happened to me. Luckily enough I did manage to get tix elsewhere. I will be absolutely furious if better seats are on sale tomorrow than the ones I was allocated.
Fans who have been supporting the boys from the very beginning (as I’m sure we all have) deserve better than this. Fan pre-sale? What an utter bunch of tosh.

Reading the stories above I guess I got lucky this morning. Had no problems with Gigs And Tours, yes it put me in a queue, but it clearly said on the screen that it would refresh every 20 sec, or i could refresh it manually. I did this and got in after 5 seconds (approx). Managed to get seats in Block J of the stalls!! Had to refresh manually again during the ‘basket’ and checkout process, but all went through ok, again after a few seconds of manual prompting/refreshing. Hope everyone gets lucky in the main sale tomorrow………….
I wish I could be there. But I can’t, cause I live in Brazil. But the show that happened here was such a wonderful one!
I share everyone’s frustration! Had the same negative experience. What a rip-off! And all these “non-fans” (as I would call them) who have indeed bought tickets to put then get the speculation going (oooooh… this word rings a bell!!!)on ebay, as always! Really unfair. As ClaireC rightly put it, this kind of pre-sale for “real fans” should be made available on websites dedicated to the band, such as a-ha.com.
Somehow I hope that fans will not buy their tickets via ebay, just to teach this stouts a lesson but I guess that will be too much to ask!

Took me 85 minutes to get tickets… and tickets says “seats” but not where we get to sit. Hmm..
Can’t say I’m impressed with Gigs&Tours. :/

Given that none of the UK shows have sold out yet, how on earth has the presale sold out, when so many fans haven’t yet got their tickets (me included).

I wasn’t able to get to a PC due to work commitments (locked in a classroom training all day!), but luckily I have a boyfriend who was. He experienced all the same problems everyone else has described – being allocated seats in the front block in front of stage (AAHHHH!!) and then system throwing him out after queuing to pay, being allocated other seats and then losing them too for same reason…I was lucky enough to get 2 tickets in the end, but they are almost in the ceiling!!…still, just glad I’m going to be there…just doesn’t seem fair that the real fans are losing out at the expense of all the eBayers. I’m no whizz with technology, but my other half said the way he eventually got the tickets was to have several browsers open at the same time. Buying a ticket to this show was the first thing I thought of when I woke up this morning. At 09:30 GMT, I started trying to get a ticket, but it said only the worst seats were available. Around 09:50, they finally showed seats available in the Second Tier, so I tried to get a ticket. I put in my CC details and clicked OK, but then the screen said there was a problem and I had to phone them. I did, but the line was busy. I kept trying to buy a ticket, while Skype automatically re-dialled every two minutes for almost an hour. No one ever answered the phone. I put my CC # in four times, and every time, it said there was a problem and I had to phone. Now I see that all the best pre-sale seats are sold out and listed on eBay for hundreds of pounds! What kind of ticket company is this and WHY are you using them????
I am absolutely furious!!! I have been extremely loyal to a-ha for 25 years and this is what I get?????? Why don’t you use a real company like TicketMaster??? AARRGGHH!!!!!!!!!!
Not good chaps, not good! Spent almost two hours refreshing pages and applying for seat after seat. The result – nothing! Can’t say I’m too impressed with the G&T agency. On a previous occasion I also had difficulties with the blighters! But congrats to those who succeeded and a curse on all the scalpers currently infesting Ebay with their ill-gotten gains. Leave them be and let ‘em sweat! There really has to be a better way of doing this…
It took me 2 hours of trying to finally get arena seats in block e, which i am very pleased about! Experienced all the same problems as others fans. The t&C’s state that the tickets cannot be resold or transfered, so how come they are on all these auction sites?? Scandalous! I hope they are all removed and resold to REAL A-HA fans! Sadly, as long as people continue to buy tickets vie eBay/viagogo etc, etc, touts will snap them up as quickly as possible. Supply and demand – unfortunately it’s how the world turns. By the way, this pees me off as much as it does all of you. I’m going to have to try again tomorrow too…
I had exactly the same problems as everybody else, this is infuriating! It took ages to get through to the booking page and then every time I tried to book the tickets it said not available or webpage has expired! I got tickets in the end but they are right at the top of the venue. What’s the point of a pre-sale if you can’t get decent tickets?! I will try again tomorrow but I’m not very hopeful that I’ll get better seats.

Sorry to hear of all of the problems everyone has had. I must have been a lucky one as got through and paid for tickets at 9.38. there must have been thousands of people trying to order at the same time so it really is luck of the draw as I experienced myself when trying to get gig tickets for wembley in november, second time lucky I guess. I noticed a couple of posts earlier where people don’t know what seats they have been allocated. In the confirmation email there is a link to a ticket tracker:

go to this link enter your confirmation id and email address or postcode and it tells you what seats you have been allocated. I was very lucky by the sounds of it to get stalls block o seats 143 -144 so should have a great view of the stage. hope the link helps some of you.
I phoned gigs and tours and gave them my booking ref they then told me what seats I had, block B row 15 not too bad but I do think its disgusting that ticket touts managed to get good seats, this happened last time for the wembley concert again going in blind without knowing what seats.
Dedicated fans are being let down, it is a real shame
May I suggest all of us lucky enough to get tickets and therefore reference numbers-email the link posted on AHA.com to make a complaint. Speak on bahalf of everyone who didn’t get tickets/reference numbers. This Company is horrendous!
