Release party and Nordic Music Awards

The release of The Swing of Things took place at a bar in Oslo, on October 21, with Morten, Magne and Paul present. After the celebration of the book release, the band moved on to Oslo Spektrum, where they received the Prize of Honor 2004. “Thank you. It’s been 20 interesting years, and it’s still interesting,” Morten said when they received the prize.

At the book release party, Morten’s brother Håkon Harket from Press Publishing made a short introduction, and then it was time for the band’s ‘revenge’ on the author. During the writing of The Swing of Things, Jan Omdahl had asked Morten, Magne and Paul a lot of personal questions, and now it was time for the band to ask him a few questions – Magne interviewed Jan, and he seemed to enjoy being at the other end of the microphone for a change.

He asked why Omdahl wrote the book, was it only for the money? Who of the three guys were most difficult to speak with? (“That would be you, Magne,” Omdahl replied). Which of the three were most in contact with their feminine side? Here Omdahl also answered Magne, but changed it to all three of them – they all have some kind of perverted feminine side, he said. When Magne asked, “Can you name three reasons that a-ha should release another album?” he answered “Magne, Morten, Paul.”
