Special guest in New York

We are pleased to announce that Norwegian singer-songwriter Sondre Lerche will be a-ha’s special guest opening act in New York on May 6, 7 and 8! An a-ha fan himself, Sondre grew up listening to their music and has over 200 a-ha records.

This is not the first time Sondre has played on the same stage as a-ha; as many of you may remember, Sondre was on the ‘Afternoon High’ concert bill along with other Scandinavian acts back in June 2002 at Ullevaal Stadium in Oslo, Norway. Not only did he perform his own set during the afternoon for an appreciative audience, but Sondre was called back on stage during a-ha’s set to join the band during ‘Locust’.

Read about the ‘Afternoon High’ concert and Sondre’s comments about the experience here on a-ha.com and on Sondre’s blog.

I’ll be attending the concert in NYC this coming Friday. My husband is a long-time a-ha fan (as am I) and we cannot wait! We are actually flying to NYC from Florida for this purpose only. I am also excited to see and hear the music of Sondre. This is a REAL treat since we know that a-ha has rarely performed a concert in the US in the past decade. All the best to a-ha in their upcoming US tour… and… even though the band bids to “end it on a high note”, those who enjoy their exceptional songs know that their melodies will linger on forever.
