what should I say? all the hits in one cd but not the memories and feelings from the original records. the magic of listen to a complete cd is misssing. somehow realy cool, somehow sad……than: this is it!
    ……………………….feel sad.
(of course I will buy it….)

Cool hits in this CD. The only thing missing, I think, is Lie Down In Darkness for the Memorial Beach section of the second CD. That was a could have been great hit. It was the fault of lack in promotion.
But anyways everything else is great. Adding the different mixes for songs such as The Blood That Moves The Body is great. I fell satisfied 99.9% The remaining 0.01% is Lie Down In Darkness missing. :) :):)

What a happy coincidence! I refer to the new album cover. When Morten was sick with sore throats here in Recife – Brazil, I wrote in the memories of the fan area: “His voice brought the sky closer to our lives.” Wow! succeeded materializing in a picture what a-ha is for us these 25 years. Words like: blue, sky, butterfly, mountains, sea, sun, clouds, etc.. Seem to be the essence of the “heater” message of a-ha for us brazilians. As is written on the posters of the show in Recife:”Vi elsker a-ha!” Forever!!

Wow! I CANNOT believe that Bandstand didn’t make the cut, or You Wanted More for that matter. I like Blue Sky but East of The Sun would have been a much better choice. All in all, great songs were chosen, I guess I am just upset about The Bandstand. Glad to see Slender Frame get some recognition. Scoundrel Days should have definitely been a single in it’s day. Butterfly ROCKS!

It’s surely time to release something like the above tracklisting on DVD. We need a decent and up to date videography.

This would also make a fantastic music video compilation on 1 or 2 DVD discs. Is there any possibility that this is also in the pipeline as there are some video clips I don’t have in my collection and it would round off my a-ha collection very nicely indeed.

More fantastic news! :) I’ve noticed there are some brilliant songs that were released as singles that are not included on this compilation, although I understand this isn’t a greatest hits collection, however, I still think there were and are many songs that are included on other a-ha albums that should’ve been released as singles. I love the artwork for the album cover :) I still hope the fabulous trio will reconsider retiring though…
…please Stay On These Roads… xx

This is not bad at all – I like some of the edits/mixes included here. Seems to cover all the ages of a-ha nicely. Good job.

Tracklist is really cool, but not perfect. I miss “Thought That It Was You”, “The Bandstand” and “Living A Boy’s Adventure Tale”. And I think we don’t need “There’s Never A Forever Thing” (SOTR) in the compilation. On the other hand, I love they have included non-single tracks: I love “Slender Frame” and the other included!

I’ll definitively buy it, for the collector’s value it has rather than the tracklist.

It will be the most anticipated “best of”-release this year. Too bad they left out “Love is Reason”, “Lie Down in Darkness”, “Birthright” and the 2003 live single version of “The Sun Always Shines on T.V.”. On the otherhand it adds some great album tracks that otherwise would’ve been left of the album.

I think it’s a great idea to take non-singles like “Scoundrel Days”, “The Swing Of Things” and “Cold As Stone” because they define A-ha. I’m pretty sure that the band itself was allowed to chose which songs should be on the album because so many greatest hits albums miss the real hits.
Of course I’m missing some songs, too, but to make the perfect greatest hits they would have to make 10CDs :D

Excellent, excellent, excellent. And if Warner and Universal can get together to give us this, there’s no reason we couldn’t have a definitive video collection on blu-ray/dvd, as well…

…so, let’s have it! Take my money! :D

What an absolutely fabulous collection of songs although it must have been an extremely difficult decision to decide which to chose; so many wonderful songs. I don’t think I’ll be able to wait for the UK release, I must get it as soon as it’s out! :-)

Just fantastic. Yes, I wish there were other songs included but agree that it would take 10+ CDs to satisfy us; we will take this and enjoy every note!! I hope that this is released in the US as soon as possible – please don’t forget about your American fans. And I would also love to see a new DVD of their favorite videos and old/recent interviews. What can I say, we fans want it all and definitely do not want it to come to an end…

a-ha should have done as Savoy did with “Songbook Vol. 1″. Re-record some of their best song on one CD and fill the other with the greatest hits.

The problem is that two discs aren’t enough to compilate a-ha’s greatet songs. At least, three are needed.

Looks like a fairly representative selection but always going to be some argument on track listings on another compilation. Can see the merit in including tracks such as my all time fave “Cold As Stone” however, a little disappointed as i seem to remember the edit version of this track not paying tribute to the vastly superior original (long) version which is a shame but understandable on a compilation. Really looking forward to hearing the deluxe albums too, some real scope to progress these on…..

The single Butterfly Butterfly is now available in the UK. I have just bought it from iTunes and presume it is available at all the usual sources.

We should write to Radio 2 and demand that they put it on their playlist.

If anyone is interested, I’ve noticed the Norwegian release of ’25′ is now available to buy on ebay.co.uk as the seller will be visiting Norway to purchase 10 of the cd’s in time for their release date on 19th July. They’re priced at £25 (not including postage) although I’m guessing this is more expensive than the release price?

I agree with most of the above comments that 2 discs are not enough (to celebrate 25 years of the best band in the world!) Maybe they should’ve included 3 or even more discs for ’25′ – Maybe Maybe :) Also, CRBosco321, just to let you know, there are several live videos and interviews on You Tube that are not yet on a-ha’s You Tube channel. I search for a-ha frequently on YT and new videos of concerts and interviews are being added all the time. I agree it would be brilliant to have these released on a DVD, they should make a DVD collection also called ’25′ of a selection of live concerts and interviews and videos, that would be amazing and would really make an Afternoon High! :)

Butterfly seems to have been taken off iTunes today – what a mess. Funny that the Deluxe Editions are available as MP3 on Amazon but not iTunes.

For anyone who’s interested there are 4 extra bonus tracks available on each album on Amazon.

    My dear friends:

What a glorious compilation!!! But that the people are not going to think that everything “diminishes” to this wonderful tracklist… There are so many and so many divine songs yours that are not in this list (East of the sun and west and the moon, Waiting for her, Rolling thunder, Living a boys adventure tale, Maybe, maybe, The soft rains of april, This alone is love, Hurry Home, Love is reason, Little black heart, To let you win, Thought that is was you, I wish I cared, I won’t forget her, Time and again, You wanted more, A little bit, White canvas, Dragonfly, Solace, Birthright, Holy Ground, A fine blue line, What there is, Sunny mistery, etc., etc., etc.)and that return me mad, that the better thing that they can do is to buy your complete discography, if already they do not have it, to get lost neither a note, nor a letter, nor an inflexion of your angelic and unique voice… though also they buy this one, of course!!!!
Certainly, thank you very, very much for including in this compilation a song that to me, personally, melts the heart for its extreme sensitivity, sweetness and beauty of music and letters…: THERE’S NEVER A FOREVER THING…And how you sing it, Morten…!!!! How many times I have cried listening to it (and with many others …)!!!!

The artwork is also precious, of a good exquisite taste…
You are, undoubtedly, the biggest artists of our time!!!!!
God bless you and IS ALWAYS WITH YOU!!!!!

Certainly, I do not consider all that as a farewell; you will never be able to separate neither of me or me of you…
I only wish you all the better in future, whatever it may be what you undertake. I know that the music you will not be able to leave her completely AND THIS WAY YOU I BEG IT!!!!

A strong embrace and kisses to the three of a great admirer!!!!!
    Up to soon in Madrid!!!!
    Ana.
