Please share your memories of this concert in the comments! Links to photos and videos are welcome.
I was there! What an amazing experience! Starting with “sun always shines on tv” was the perfect choice, that intro gives me a rush! I didn’t want it to end, I loved it, loved it! I was dreading “take on me” as I knew it was the last one. I have to admit I did cry, very emotional. Can’t believe this is the end.
Miss you!
Great concert! Morten! Magic voice! Magne and Paul! Virtuoso! Thanks for the music and for the tourblog! Thank you for the wonderful memories of the gig!
SO looking forward to A-ha on Friday night. Only thing missing is Lifelines.
I had front row tickets for this concert and the interaction from the band was amazing. Better still, I saw Magne and Paul coming out of the venue and got photos and my tour book signed. Can’t wait for Bournemouth!!!
Absolutely spectacular show and very sad to see the last performance.. Trying to get tickets for a remaining show as it was too good to only see once!!!!
Rhea, you lucky thing! What time did Magne and Paul come out? We waited for ages! Did you see Morten?
Lorraine, Magne came out first at, I would say, just after 11am. Paul came out about 10 mins later. They stopped and got out of their cars as they were leaving. Unfortunately I didn’t get to see Morten but I’ll try again at Bournemouth! Sorry you missed them.
Lorraine, sorry – I meant to say 11pm not 11am – I didn’t have to wait that long!
You were amazing in Brighton on Monday. Last time I saw you I was 10 years old and saw you at The Royal Albert Hall on New Years Eve and now at 32, I am privileged to have seen you on your last tour and in my home town, the songs, photos (posters on my wall!) bought back so many happy memories. I wish you all the happiness for the future, and know that your songs will forever be with your fans.
xx
They must have come out from a different exit to where I was stood waiting (like a wally)! What a shame, I really want to see them again! That won’t happen though…
Am going to Wembley Arena – looking forward to it! Can anyone tell what time their concert finished or how long the concert is roughly? Need to sort tain home!! Thanks!
Should be ‘train’ home!!
Was absolutely amazing and looking forward to Wembley, though it will be very sad!!!
Lynne, the Brighton gig finished at 10.30.
It was absoultely amazing. Even my friend Linda loved the concert who only knows them because of me. We was in the second row from the front and I could not believe how close to Morten I was! I will treasure that moment forever.
For me personally this was a very sinificant concert- this was the first venue where I saw a-ha from the front row in 2006 and I’ve been to many a-ha gigs!
The lighting and backdrop were just perfect and the atmosphere in the crowd was pure electric, remaining undiluted despite the passing of the fans teenage youth.
I looked back over the audience as they dabced and clapped and shared the moment with friends and family and I marvelled at all the lives the music this band has produced and touched so many lives with.
The acoustic version of Butterfly was sheer perfection, seeing our three idols grouped together on satge for their last hurrah and with Morten’s vocals climbing new heights.
In ended on a happy, high note where it all begun for many fans like myself woth Take One Me against the comic strip backdrop. Our lives turned with the pages on the screen of the miedia shots of a-ha that have spanned twenty five years.
A-ha remain in our hearts and on our players for giving us life outside the box and dreaming ourselves alive.
Thank you to Paul, Morten and Magne and wishing them every future happiness.
They were amazing. That voice is as good as ever and the musicianship was superb! Thank you A-ha for many years of great music and entertainment.Best wishes for whatever future plans you have and I hope we haven’t seen the last of you.xx
WONDERFUL!!! Thank you so much fellas for a lovely goodbye. Ruddy excellent spot in 5th row, much clapping, cheering, screaming and singing, such a lovely atmosphere and fantastic audience to go with the fantastic three (not forgetting the other 2 guys who were awesome also!) Well done guys and much love and happiness to you x
I was there to see the boys in my adopted home town (my original ‘gig’ venue is Portsmouth Guildhall- HINT! *sigh*). I met a friend there (hi, Cote!) and it was such an amazing gig. Unforgettable, and the night before I turned 36 also, so fantastic memories for me. I froze my bits off before and after but no show – sad.
I did the same at the Sheffield gig and apparently Morten did come out but I had to leave to get a tram and meet my friends who were putting me up for the night. (So I missed him again! NO! How could this happen???!!!) But the atmosphere at the BC gig was SO MUCH BETTER than Sheffield, I’ll never ever forget it and it was the most spectacular gig I’ve ever been to (and I’ve been to a hell of a lot, including David Bowie at Wembley Arena).
Boys – men, but always my gorgeous boys – you have touched many, many lives. I can only really speak for myself and say that this 36 year old felt like a teenager again seeing you perform. I did cry. I did yell. I did sing at the top of my lungs. All were necessary and I came out of the gig in a complete daze.
Thanks, guys – I’ll always love you. *peace and hugs*
Well, what a journey. My first ever concert was at the Brighton Centre in January 1987 as a 6-year-old watching A-Ha. Fitting that my final concert watching one of the best bands of the last 25 years would be at the Brighton Centre as well.
My memories of the first gig are nearly getting crushed outside as the doors opened; one of the ushers advising my Mum that I should wear earplugs; and the cacophony of noise coming from the crowd. It was brilliant, and the start of a love of A-Ha’s music that will never end.
As other bands have come and gone, A-Ha have remained a constant to my life since I can remember first singing ‘Take On Me’ as a 5-year-old. I dont think I ever hit the high notes, even then. Even the final video, for ‘Butterfly’ was recorded under a fly-over about a mile from where I grew up!
You will be sorely missed guys, you have helped me live a boy’s adventure tale through your unique music up until now.
Cheers
I’ve been there and I loved the concert! I’m so happy I could join the last hooray with a-ha and all the other fans. Well done guys, you knew how to end it in such a beautiful way! I’m very grateful for having your music with me for most of my life, and it’ll surely continue being a part of me. Thank you very much for making the world a better place to live in, with your amazing music and fantastic lyrics.
