Fan report:
Having never been to the Cardiff International Arena before, I was not sure what to expect from the venue. I need not have worried though, a-ha fans will make any place feel friendly and welcoming. The warm up act was good, but by the time Mags, Paul, Morten and the boys took to the stage I think they had managed to hype the audience into a state of near frenzy at the expectation of the amazing music to come. From their beautifully cut suits to the amazing images on the big screens behind them and the specialised lighting effects, the show is slick compared to the one I saw about 20+ years ago at the Showering Pavillion in Shepton Mallet (which is where they usually display the cattle for the annual Bath and West Show!) However, despite all the modern and professional touches, what shone through once again are the amazing personalities of the band. Morten and Mags encouraged audience participation (there may have been a riot had they not!) and made me feel that I was actually involved and valued as a fan. The set started with “The Sun Always Shines”, had a huge range of songs from throughout their career and finished (with a little encouragement from the crowd – be prepared, a-ha are obviously enjoying winding their audiences up!) with “Take on Me!” – all played with huge amounts of energy, smiles and laughter. a-ha’s musical ability has long been under-appreciated and even Morten’s drumming was impressive! I laughed, cried, danced, sang and felt a connection to the other thousands of fans at the CIA. I then went home and slept in my a-ha Farewell Tour t-shirt! The only thing missing was being able to personally thank Morten, Mags and Paul for all they have meant to me throughout the last 25 years. So thank you guys – I am sending you huge hugs and best wishes for the future x

CARDIFF CIA – 25/11/2010 was AWESOME!! Im so happy I got to see them for the last time and I was very emotional and couldnt take my eyes off them, especially Morten. I love A-ha so much, they have grown with me over the 25 plus years that I have loved them and from schoolgirl to adult and even into my older years, they will always be very special to me. Thank you A-ha for all your music – you have been a true inspiration and are so unique, no-one will ever be able to match you. LOVE YOU GUYS xx
What an excellent night. I had the best seats that I have ever had at one of your gigs.
Morten, you were in fine voice, as ever.
I have been a fan from the beginning, along with my friend who was with me at our first concert in Bristol in 1988, to this our last.
Many changes have happened in the 25 years that we have known you. Thanks for the music.
What an amazing gig, thanks guys xx But so sad that its the last we’ll see of them. Had fab seats great view, centre block right in front of Morten and my sis fell in love with Mags all over again.
We were disappointed that Morten didn’t do any signings before he left. Wish we could go to Oslo for the last one, hopefully the dvd might be out in time for christmas.
To A-Ha
Thank you so much for the nicest night any a-ha fan could wish for. We came all the way from Ireland to see you in Cardiff and thank you for putting on the best gig ever. I have been lucky enough in my life to see you 3 times what a joy!
Good luck guys, thank you so much for being my favourite band of all time. Keep making beautiful music, I will keep listening! with much love from Maria
Absolutely fantastic night! could not have had a better view than i had! Standing against the barrier right in front of Morten! Was absolutely gutted though as the girl next to me got asked to go backstage after the gig! Love to see your photos whoever you are. Would have been amazing to meet them! Thanks guys for 25 years of joy! All the best for the future.
Went on my own to Cardiff, to watch the boys play one last time.
I don’t think middle aged blokes are supposed to show or feel emotion, but as the evening unfolded, a whole load of memories went through my mind.
The Sun Always Shines on TV was the first single I bought and I’ve played the vinyl versions of Stay on the Roads and Scoundrel Days till they are scratched to pieces.
Still can’t quite believe they have stopped, but sincerely wish them all the very best with whatever they do now.
You have done a wonderful job in creating so many memorable songs and I thank you for the joy you have given me.
Great to see Morten enjoying himself!!!
Thank you a-ha for taking the time to do this last tour! I was at the CIA and lucky enough to be front row, just in front of Morten and Mags. It was like a dream come true. What amazing music you’ve created over the years, it was such a joy to listen to it all. They sounded fabulous, looked amazing, and seemed really happy. Morten even came over and mouthed ‘hello’- I was actually weak at the knees! A night to remember forever. Best of luck for the future- and thank you for the music. Love from emma xxx

Thank you, thank you, thank you for such a memorable and happy evening in Cardiff (even ‘with a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes’). The one and only chance my best mate and I had to see a-ha live in the twenty five years since we first went wild over them as teenagers. a-ha looked and sounded excellent – great musicianship guys.
Thank you so much for the music and memories and good luck in the future.
Diolch o’r galon (heartfelt thanks), loads of love and a big Welsh cwtch to all three of you. xxxxx
PS – Love the thank you message from Magne on the website this evening. Of course we won’t forget you, you lovely boy!
I was in cardiff, thought you were brilliant. Butterfly had to be my favourite song of the night and i felt myself getting quite emotional knowing this would be the last time i could see you live. you guys were a big inspiration to me as i was growing up and your songs will stay in my heart forever. Shame your finishing as i would have loved to sing a duet with you as im a singer too. Thanks for 25 years of great music.
Good luck for the future, lot’s of love Ruth. xx
