About the concert:
A report from Monika Hein
After the preshow, Morten, Magne and Paul entered the stage and immediately everybody was on their feet, dancing and celebrating a-ha’s last gig in Hamburg.
The aisles were full of people in a moment, everybody seemed to want to be close to their band from the start – it even reminded me of the 80ties, when I was squeezed in the masses.
After the deeply touching acoustic set, during which Morten actually lost his train of thought – was it because he was touched, or because he wanted to find new, special words for the Hamburg audience? However, he just smiled and went on with his speech about the last 25 years. Mags did some dancing behind his keyboard, and Morten almost fell, when he stood on a soundbox. We would have caught him, no question!
The sound was brilliant, the band was in a good mood, even Paul was quite talkative. At the end it seemed that Morten and Mags had tears in their eyes as they waved goodbye.
It was a touching, intense, musically gorgeous goodbye, with a special thanks from the band to “Warner”, who “let them be a band”.

Hamburg 28.10.2010. My 7th a-ha concert. In 25 years.
What a concert! What a night!
For us who are not going to Oslo…that was it! That was what?
Now: officially grown up. Our youth: officially over. Melancholy, but why?
Folding the a-ha shirts together and put them into the the wardrobe …or on the attic?
Arrange the CD’s back in the bookshelf …and smile at the Vinyls.
Take another deep breath…sigh at it all.
Then, turning around. Look at our children. Nearly 10. The same age. Hope, that they will find their soundtrack for their life.
A-ha`s music will stay.
Because that is, what it has always been about. The words. The music.
Not the screaming fans, the autographs, the signing hours, not the TV Interviews, the public worship.
It has been about the music, a special and precious kind of music.
Three young men, devoted to the music, to the art they were able to create.
Not more and –oh really- not less.
All that time … this music and me.
But there was always more in life. The view is dulled today.
The one who created all music is surely smiling. He put the passion for music and the ability to create art in the hearts of Magne, Paul and Morten. What an act of love!
And I will trust him to be the soundtrack of my life. Because that is, what it’s all about.
Let love be the music and go on!
With a thankful heart,
Yours Birte
Stay!! Don’t just walk away!
Since yesterday the butterflies are in my belly. It should not have been the last hurrah! I am so sad and I hope the butterflies will return to Germany again to give more concerts – maybe only sometimes… Please come back again to fulfill us with happiness. We love you and your music so much…
Love and thousands of kisses to you
Hamburg was absolutely great. Thank you so much!
Jutta from Germany
Hello guys, that was really a great show in hamburg.
i love this version of butterfly, butterfly.
i was a little surprised that the show started with “sun always shines…” its one of my favourite songs.
i was on row 13, so i have had a great view to the stage and i guess i saw a little melancholy on mortens face as he left the show at the end.
as “take on me” was over and you guys left, i just needed to take a look at my watch and i was a little shocked because it was already nearly 11pm.
i`d just lost track of my sense of time, felt like there was just half an hour gone by or so.
i can still remember when “take on me” first started on mtv, i was 9 years old then. and i loved it. since that i followed you through the years. so you can say i growed up with you guys, so maybe you can understand i`m not really loving you for quitting and there a tear was running at the end of the show.
although, i just don`t want to believe this is really the end, cause when it comes to music you guys are junkies
anyway, i wish all of you just the best for your future. take care of you guys.
i hope there will be an official dvd from the farewell tour on sale, say as a farewell gift from you to us. u can`t leave us without one.
thank you again for the last 25 years of great music and loveable memories to hold on to.
i`m just not ready to say goodbye, so i`m remaining silence about that. take care , your music will always have a place in my heart.
love and kisses, dani from hamburg – germany

Well, here I am. Thinking about the past 25 years. I was 14 years old when I heard “hunting high and low” for the first time and it opened my eyes and ears for a brand new world. Then I had the chance to visit my very first concert. It was in Frankfurt 1986 (I still have got the ticket). It was amazing even though Morten had some trouble with his back and was not able to move very much. My class-mates told me I must be crazy to love your music and that you couldn’t last very long. Well, you proved them wrong. Now I just want to say thank you again for 25 years of wonderful music. Although I do understand in a way that you decided to end up with a-ha I will miss you (look at me, I have tears in my eyes again). I wish you all the best for the future, take care and have fun. Love, Maike from Germany.
Thanks a lot to let us participate in Your creative minds – Thanks a lot for Songs wich are in my mind for many years, in good and in bad times.
I wish You, that You now enjoy your privat life.
I think, we will hear from You, not as a-ha but from Paal, Morten and Magne – I hope so – !!
Steph

Hei Morten, Magne and Paul,
people say, the best things are three. I know, your goodbye is not good for me, but I have the possibility to see your farewell show three times!
)
I was in Dresden with my brother and the open air concert was great!
Last week I’ve seen you in Hamburg together with my boyfriend and this show impressed me too. The concert was spectacular and the audience was singing louder
My boyfriend have made photos, you can look at facebook:

I was a fan of you my whole life through – okay, since I was 13 and a-ha started the career with “Hunting High And Low”. The first time I can’t see your concerts, because of the country in wich I growed up: GDR (DDR). And so I was so sad, that you disintegrate in solo projects and I’ve never seen you live!
The Millennium brought you back and I was lucky, that you’ve started again!
Now, after all the years and wonderful concerts, beautyful albums and a good feeling I’m feeling blue again.
But I’m also happy to see you once again, my last time, in Oslo!
I wish you, Morten, Magne and Paul all the best for your life and still big success as solo artists!
Enjoy the time with your families and friends!
Thank you so much for my favorite music and the wunderful people that you are!
Kisses and goodbye,
Tusen, tusen takk!
Dana
PS: The video “Butterfly, Butterfly” tell’s so good the story of your grow up as a-ha, your friendship and leaving the band into three different ways. Three – it must be good!
Stadtallendorf … Stuttgart … Braunschweig … Hamburg
Before every concert I was nervous. And I am so happy to have been there…it was so great.
I join to my previous speaker:
…I wish you, Morten, Magne and Paul all the best for your life and still big success as solo artists! (From this I call a few CDs mine own.)
Enjoy the time with your families and friends!
Thank you so much for my favorite music and the wunderful people that you are!
But I hope also to see you back on stage again as a-ha.
Here you can see some pictures, which I made.

I flew from British Columbia Canada to see them. A great concert. A fan for years but was unable to see them when they were in Toronto. Well worth the trip.
